About SBMS

The Small Business Mentoring Service (SBMS) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing affordable, accessible business mentoring services for micro and small business owners across Australia. Since 1986, SBMS has helped thousands of entrepreneurs and small business operators to start, grow and thrive.

Our Mentors

Through our national network of more than 120 experienced business mentors, we offer one-on-one mentoring programs designed to meet the unique challenges faced by small business owners.

Our mentors come from diverse industries, including retail, hospitality, manufacturing, and professional services, and bring real-world experience, practical guidance, and encouragement to help businesses overcome obstacles and achieve lasting success.

Our Partnerships

SBMS works closely with local councils , government programs, and industry partners to deliver business mentoring initiatives (Victoria, New South Wales and beyond) that strengthen communities and support local economic growth. Guided by a Board drawn from our volunteer members, SBMS remains committed to helping Australian micro and small businesses build confidence, capability and resilience.
